  As I live 1/2 hour outside of Launceston the Woolworth's Mowbray Market place is my closest major supermarket at which I have shopped for the past 20 odd years. I am elderly and have difficulty standing for any length of time. My shopping needs are simple and invariably I purchase only a small number of items. For these reasons, I have always found the express checkout at the store invaluable. I am astounded that this checkout facility has now been removed as part of the current store renovations. My dismay was compounded yesterday when, for the purchase of 2 items, myself and several other customers behind me, waited 9 minutes while the customer in front of me at the manned checkout was served. I would add that the delay was due to the customer, not your staff member, who was very patient and efficient. Needless to say, such a delay would not have occurred had an express checkout been available. While I appreciate that the self service checkout area has been expanded, I prefer dealing with a real person. I do not believe that the cost savings to your company's bottom line, can justify this reduction in customer service. Sorry, but you have lost a longtime, loyal customer to the adjacent Coles supermarket.
